Porn's- Pornsak's Restaurant

Me@Porn's

Dinner last nite was @Porn's.
The restaurant owned by TCS host Pornsak.

The saying of it- A true thai food restaurant.
We sought to find out what's the catch-
Star power or the food?

The crowd

We reached @6.30pm, the place was already crowded.
Placed our names on the waiting list,
We waited outside.
The waiting crowd continued to build.

Waited for half hour, soon I got a call frm them.

We sat and quickly ordered.

Thai Pineapple Fried Rice

Close Up

Thai pineapple fried rice was my order.
It came inside a half pineapple.

I dug in. Not bad.
Tasty fragrant of pineapple.
However the portion was quite small,
the hollowness of the 'pine plate' was quite shallow.
Dug few times BOH liao.

Thai Green Curry

Wifey's order was Thai Green Curry.
The curry taste quite mild,
to us still okie.

The soup, unlike wat we've tried b4,
was quite diluted.

The curry taste quite mild,
altho the fragrant of Greeny Curry still there.

Fried Tou Fu with Thai sauce

This fried tou fu acceptable.
Tou Fu go fried liao,
then pour in slightly spicy and sweet sauce.
The normalcy of thai food.

Thai Roselle & Lime

Our drink was Thai Roselle with a slice of lime.
Thirst quenching, taste was so familiar...

I kept thinking. Then Bingo!

Kobayashi's fruit punch.
Similar to tat, with abit of lime.

Makan-ing

Overall 。。。

While we were eating,
alot of passerby took glances inside the restaurant,
plus finger pointing.
Pornsak was there, star power @play.

One teenager girl walked pass, saw him,
jumped hysterically for seconds & palm-hitting his friend.
Phiangz. Pornsak onli mah.

Quite a handful came in, and the queue nvr-ending.
After our meal, guess it's the food and star power.

To ans the qns whether justifiable of true thai food,
guess have to ask a real Thai indigenous.

For... I find Thai Express food nice,
however someone told me her Thai indigenous friend
puked & said it's rubbish.
Not Thai-ish at all.

So difference in standard lar.
For Porn's, food shld be acceptable bah,
if u don't have a strong Thai palate.

Later in hours time,
another makan session.
Daniel's baby girl's 1 yr birthday.

Handburger with comrades

@Handburger

We haven't meet up for so long.
Finally the chance for all to come together,
for dinner+chat.

Location: Recommended them- Handburger

Duck Confit

For 1st tme, ate duck burger. Yes, duck burger.

Ingredients:

Whole grilled boneless duck leg confit in handmade orange sauce,
baby snow pea sprouts, mandarin orange on a bed of coral lettuce,
tomato on a toasted caramelised bun.

No mistake, consider a weird combo:
Duck+Mandarin Orange+Bun.

The taste?

Strong orange sweetness sauce,
with the duck meat so tender,
and the real fresh mandarin orange.
I love it. Exotic!

Tandoor Chicken

Ingredients:

Chicken thigh cooked in tandoor style,
marinated in yogurt,
cucumber red onions,
handcooked masala sauce,
mint mayo, topped wif sweet mango chutney on a bed of coral lettuce,
tomato on a toasted spinach & parmesan bun.

Chicken Caesar

Ingredients:

Baked chicken breast wrapped wif becon, fresh mozzarella,
sauteed basil pesto mushroom,
handmade caesar dressing
on a bed of romaine lettuce,
tomato on a toasted sundried tomato wif olive bun

Other than sumptuous meal, had a great chat.

Can't reme what I had last time.
Wifout referring to my blog archive,
I tink it's "The Works Burger"

I didn't request tasting their burgers.
and sadly they didn't offer either.

Next time I'll try the rest.
On a glance, all temptingly irresistible.

Still, of course, meet up betters the meal.
Till the next tme, comrades!

公主嫁到 (Can't Buy Me Love)

Can't Buy Me Love

Cast:

佘詩曼, 陳豪, 黃浩然, 陳法拉, 鍾嘉欣, 關菊英...

Story:

An ill-tempered princess (昭陽公主,佘詩曼飾) is well-liked
by his father, the Emperor.

Upon the age of marriage,
in order to avoid being married off to another province,
she agreed to marry a wealthy second master (金多祿, 陳豪飾)
who is at loggerhead wif her.
He agrees to the marriage as he needs the title of emperor's son-in-law
to resurrect family business.

Inevitably both play-acting a blissful marriage.

Chest-baring

I think。。。

Old-school plot of yet another arrogant princess marrying her loggerhead.
What draws me is the strong cast,
and the strong viewership in HK.

My question: Will it disappoint?

The 1st few episode got me glued to the screen.

Exaggerating expressions, funny conversations,
flirting, chims chinese poems,
jovial family ties, palace power struggle ...
adding in plots by imperial concubine.

It's 宫心计 part 2, but I didn't watch that,
thus no comment.

Have to admit, it gets lengthy in those mid-episode,
however all these stitches up the full picture.

Other than the intricate plots,
another can watch is Linda Chung 鍾嘉欣,
who shot to flame in 溏心风暴.

In this serial, she acts as simple-minded 吳四德
who encounters a "want-love-but-can't"
and a "I-walk-left-U-walk-right" relationship.
Will it blossom?

Sheng Siong rice discount

Watch-anot?。。。

Entertaining.
One tat once u starts u want kw the ending.
Perhaps tat explains the high viewership.

The evil concubine's plot was unveiled 3-4 episode before the end (of 32),
make me wondering whether the cast would be dancing ard coconut trees
& reciting poems after that.

Nope- Another villain appears to push the show to another pinnacle,
& another palm-sweating.

Jumble this ticket!

Tonite's Toto winning nos r out!

I retrieved my tickets,
one of which, striking 6 numbers as circled.

If only, if only,
they were in the same row,
I would be the 2nd price winner.

So close, yet so far.
In a single $7 ticket bet.

Hw i wish i could jumble up the numbers.
Despite the huge disappointment,
I can see light...

Operation Ordeal

Had an operation to remove a small lipoma on my right arm.

It was a frightening experience.

I was told to change to their patient's robe,
ushered to wait outside the operating room.

There, I saw via the glass that there was a group of busy nurses,
wearing gloves, putting on their face masks, clearing some used tissues.

I tot I've heard them sharpening their knives.

Seated on the chair outside,
feeling damn cold, scared.
Was chilled by cold aircon inside,
guess one who's scared will feel cold even under the sun.

I waited for quite some time,
as they had some forms erroneously filled-up.
Thus, extending my distress.

Before I ever regain any composure,
they called for me.

I tried every steps to walk in straight line.
Cannot show any signs of panicking.

I was told to lie on the bed,
then told to sleep sideways for their ease of operating on my arm.
I was given a pillow to hug for comfort.

As I turned sideways, the robe I was wearing exposed my bare back.
Tink Lin Chiling's bare back met her strongest opponent.
Of course, they put on a blanket for me shortly
in case the nurses can't concentrate,
or perhaps they might plunge the cut deeper.

Numerous nurses tried to instruct me for the best position,
as if models doing their photo shoot.

Then they injected anesthetic on my lipoma lump.
Mins later they checked the numbness by poking me wif needle.

The most feared began.
I could feel someone slicing my skin,
altho the feeling was quite numb and limited.
Tat's not the scary part.

The most scary part was @one point when
they pulled opened my skin.
I felt as if my skin was a rubber band being stretched.
The stretching pressure, the sensation made me shiver.
I was damn scared, almost fainted.
Lucky laying sideways with the pillow can prevent urinating.
If not they might have another extra step to do.

They cleaned my wound and stitched it.
Four stitches.
Fortunately stitching time I couldn't feel anything.
They also showed me the villain tat caused this misery.

When I got off the bed,
they kept asking me whether m I giddy.
"No, I'm just feeling cold"
I replied, wif convulsion.

After the ordeal, I was relieved.

We always ask for wealth.
In life, what can be more impt than health?

Spoiler Rings

I picked this up, when i noticed its brand.

I was out searchin for something to bite.

Then, surprised, the Burger King brand.

Burger King's onion rings crackers in a pack. Somemore 'hot & spicy'.

At a price tag of $4.90. It was ex.
Nvr tried $4.90 crackers b4.

Conclusion: satisfactory level 0

The crackers were tasteless, they were sprinkled wif spicy powder.

Worse, the powder when smell like sour sour.
Then powder like shit taste.
Horrible i would say, everything went wrong.
Its fate- in the dustbin.

I am one who don't waste food like tat,
those I don fancy i'll still finish them off.

Only this packet broke my record.
Esp when considering the price,
eat liao shit out also happy.

Still, i left it in the bin.

Detective Dee & the Mystery of Phantom Flame

Detective Dee-ancient setting wif ingredient of mystery

Story:

The series of sudden and mysterious deaths of loyal officials
threaten to ruin the inauguration of Empress Wu Zetian.
The Imperial Palace is forced to recall the services
of Detective Dee back from prison.
Will he be able to solve the mystery?
Call it...
The Chinese version of Sherlock Holmes.

How I feel:

Interesting beginning,
anyone who touches the charm on the pillar
(tat supports the grandiose bronze Buddha statue)
will be torched by flame igniting from their inner body.
1st of all, Hollywood-ish effect, the combustion
then the remaining charcoal bones.

Why? Why?

It's said to be punishment by God,
as the charm is supposed to be for good luck.
Perhaps...Devil @work?

I shouldn't say much so as not to let the cat out of d bag,
for those who will b watching.

Andy Lau pondering hard whether to cut his beard

What's impressive is the visual effect.
Although still flawed when comparing to Hollywood's,
at least HK movie has to begin somewhere.

Action wise, it's okie,
wif good cool slow motion.

Mid of the show, wif even
an appearance of weird masked person/ 'thing'
whose hands can come off and on.
Devil?

Striking a pose together

Storyline acceptable, wif terse,
salient conversations tat's just right.
Positively, adding to this,
few sporadic humorous conversations
drawing spontaneous laughter frm audience.

Just tat I feel much of the headway of the unravel
seems to be from hints
by others instead of frm his (detective dee) genius brain.
Perhaps, he's in prison for too long liao.

Andy spotted wif his new waterproof sun shade

One thing I lament is~
Similar to Sherlock Holmes,
no audience participation in the guessing.
They just say: 'A' happens because of 'B'
and U just have to reckon: "Orrhh..."

So, 各位观众, just seat tight and watch
how Mr Dee unravel the plot.

My Review:

3 OUT OF 5

It's never Bery Good,
Nor a Bery Bad movie.
Just hw well u perceive-
Smart plot anot.

Worth mentioning the
good handling of characters by the actors/actresses.

Find out who's the bad guy/devil
behind the plot.

And also, the fate of Detective Dee,
when he might be torched,
just like the rest of the victims.
