Meet Parent Session- mum and dad

Alot of guys went thro this,
or rather, must go thro this at some point of a relationship.
I can say it's one of the most scariest encounter.
The 1st meeting with her parents.

The most scariest is an animal known as "mother"
which can strike so much fear.

Why? GF's mother has two heads?

When u stand back and see- actually her mother is just a complete stranger.
But why a stranger can cause such panic?

Guess social stigma states tat her mother will shout at u when u talk too long with her daughter,
scream at u when both of u return home late, chop u into pieces if u bully her daughter.

That cause u to somehow developed that fear factor without reason.

Kind of funny and fun when I see BF in the house,
timid and sweating on 1st meeting with my mother and answering all the qns.

Also come the next scary thing-
another animal sitting metres away known as "Father."

This is more bizarre- he sits there quietly, yet has this 杀气.
Purportedly most fathers r quiet, still we'll label them as fierce.

A killer who never use sword and
kills by staring.

Thus after compiling this is what I've got:

Mother is a teacher.
One who interacts with u more,
someone whom u r afraid of,
one who tell u wat to do or not to,
and can give u score and fail u.

Father is a principal.
One who seldom interacts,
someone whom u r afraid of,
one who keeps staring at u without saying anything,
and can expel u from sch without telling u why.

Oh my, tat's scary!

Gyne's jokes

Our previous appointment
our gyne cracked some of his jokes again.

While he was doing the scanning on our child,
he told me:

"U shld sing a song for yr wife at night."

Sing a song?

" Sing 月亮代表我的心"

Abit cold.

Nevertheless he continued...

After giving birth your wife will slim down.
Coz got free aerobic lesson (rocking baby to sleep).

He started self laughing.

"Then u (wifey) will sing 爱你也好恨你也好 to ur husband,
coz he caused the sufferings!"

Damn. I wonder got this song anot.
Or issit the song too old to recall.
Generation gap.

Upon returning to his seat, he continued...

"After giving birth,
your wife will be promoted to second lieutenant soon."

Noticing our befuddled faces,
he gestured one stroke each on the eyes illustrating wrinkles.

"Next child promote to lieutenant.

Then to captain!

Here alot of captains liao...Hahahaa..."

Okie hand it to him. We joined his laughter.

Tribute to Steve Jobs (1955-2011)

Got a shock when I read the news.
The passing of a great man.

And the out-pouring of mourning for him on FB,
the legacy he left behind.

There's also lots of quotes by him,
most of it, frankly, my 1st read as I don't follow him tat closely.
Just his revolutionary iphone perhaps.

Meaningful quotes, esp when he mentioned death
being a driving force for his endeavour.
"Don't be afraid to make mistakes"
Few can be as strong and visionary as him.

What I can recall abt him was his public speech
when he unveiled iphone, his new baby to much anticipated crowd,
which he added:
"This product surpasses other competitors' by 10 yrs."

I bet many will think he big hole.

He got it all right-
the multi-touch screen dominates the current phone market.

If without iphone I believe Nokia will be in everyone's pocket,
as we constantly see the start-up screen of two shaking hands,
same start-up tone,
bad pixelled screen,
tactile keypad,
silly functions which we will conceived
as being the most user-friendly mobile platform.

With the arrival of iphone, whether u like or hate it,
indisputably drives other phone company to improve their products.
It's a winning situation not only for Apple Inc,
but to all consumers.

We'll remember your smile,
and hope the new Cook can dish out another legacy delicacy.
